On first impressions, the survey looked detailed and comprehensive, a 42 page report with photos. However, when going through it in a bit more detail, it became apparent that some of it had been done “lazily”. There were many “likely problems” states probably so they don’t get sued, but the survey didn’t tell us definitively if we had them which left us very confused, e.g they did not lift the drain lid because it was “too heavy” and they could not assess the loft timbers properly because of “limitations which prevented safe access” I.e. there was stuff in the way and the surveyor did not discuss with the vendors to move it beforehand. I’ve now had to get another surveyor that has liaised with the vendor to move their stuff out of the way prior to the survey date. This is what goldcrest should’ve done but they didn’t.
