Getting My Broadband Transferred to New Address

Question

I move house soon and I need to have broadband at my old house until the day we move, and then again in the new house as quickly as possible – preferably within 24 hours due to my work. What can I do to make this happen? Do broadband providers offer a premium moving service for people like me?

Answer

There is currently no premium service available for house movers who urgently need access.

What you need to do is notify your ISP (Internet Service Provider) well in advance that you are moving. It is usually possible to have your service until the day you move, and then get the new line activated on your moving in date. The more time you give them the less chance you’ll encounter a delay.

I was quoted what I thought was a ridiculous price by an estate agents affiliated surveyor, so I went online to invite alternative surveyors to provide a better financial proposition without compromising on quality. I was provided with a short list of five and was pleased that the price that I chose from those with five star revues was around 25% cheaper than the original quotation.
